I’m sending this to you because, in one form or another, you have been part of a remarkable few years in my writing life. The launch of Raw Writing has allowed me to write, teach and meet amazing new people.
You’ve been part of my story to this point and I wanted to share the joy and celebration of this, my first newsletter, with you as it feels like a real benchmark.
So, to my friends new and old, welcome to Raw Writing. Thank you for being part of the story and I hope we get to write many more in the future.
The courses I’ve run so far through Raw Writing have been a pleasure and I’ve met excellent people. Funnily enough, we all have a lot in common (reading and writing) and I’m always delighted to see my attendees having coffee together after the sessions. There is something about writing that bonds people. This is why I’ve set up a Meetup group in order to provide the opportunity for writers (at any stage) to connect.
The next social event is 9th June, 6pm at City Gate Pub, Exeter (FREE to attend.) I’d love to see you there… Click here to see the event on Meetup.com
Nature Writing Days
Emma and I did a trial run for ‘Nature Writing Days at the Farm.’
Click here to see photos from the day.
Here is some of the feedback we received:
‘Carla and Emma’s writing workshop in the country was an absolute delight. They gave us peace and excellent writing prompts. A truly inspirational day. As it happened, it fell on my birthday, a brilliant birthday treat.’
‘Farrantshayes is in a beautiful, bucolic setting, bursting with inspiring exercises to get your creativity and imagination flowing.’
‘Thank you for a wonderful day of writing in the Culm Valley countryside.’
‘Farrantshayes Farm is a place that allows you to get away from everyday life and enjoy the peace of being surrounded by nature.’
As such, Emma and I are excited to offer more creative writing days at Farrantshayes Farm this summer.
Thursday 15th June
Thursday 17th August
Thursday 21st Sept.
Days run 10am-4pm, cost £90* including a delicious, locally-sourced Ploughman’s lunch, refreshments throughout the day and free parking.
*We feel strongly that everyone who wants to write should be able to write. If cost is a barrier, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
I’m also starting to book guest tutors to run more courses with Raw Writing.
Here is one that’s coming up soon…
