DESCRIPTION:In this eight-week course between March > May\, we’ll explore the contemporary poetry scene in the UK\, Ireland and America. \nThe diversity of voices at work today is exciting\, at times overwhelming. We’ll sample writing from the T S Eliot and Forward Prizes\, scan the poetry magazines and podcasts and sharpen our reading and writing skills as we tune into new voices\, styles and forms. \nDoes modern poetry deserve its reputation for difficulty? Who is telling us stories in verse that we need to listen to? \nAuthors are yet to be decided but possible names include; Anne Carson\, Vidyan Ravinthiran\, Ada Limón\, Karen Solie\, Isabelle Baafi\, Jorie Graham\, Catherine-Esther Cowie\, Jason Allen-Paisant. \nSuitable for beginners.
