Introduction to Crime Fiction

Have you ever thought about a life of crime? Writing it, I mean. Have you ever read a crime novel and been so gripped you couldn’t put it down? And have you ever wondered why you were so gripped? And most importantly, have you ever fancied doing that yourself? If you’ve answered yes to all that, then come along to Exeter Phoenix in January, where I’ll be running a four-week Introduction to Crime Writing course. We’ll be reading, talking, and, most importantly, writing crime. We’ll be looking at what makes a good crime novel work and how important character, setting, plot and narrative all are. And twists.
